SAVING FOR A RAINY DAY

Feb 04, 2014

I am a pound puppy, as most of you know. I have seen some "rainy days" as you people like to call them. There were times when I didn't know where my next meal would come from. I'm just happy to have my own people now who always keep my food bowl full.

Anyway, I've heard people talk about "saving for a rainy day." This makes no sense to me when it comes to food. When I'm hungry, I eat! Because I know that my people will just get me more food. I have no reason to save food for a rainy day.

Toys, on the other hand, are a different story. Every now and then, my people bring me a new toy to play with. If you are wondering, I LOVE stuffed toys. I like to rip out the stuffing and make them squeak...it's great! Every time I hear that little squeak, it just makes me feel so powerful! Like I'm killing that little toy!

I digress...ok, where was I? Oh yeah - saving my toys for a rainy day. Since my people don't bring me toys on a daily basis (what's up with THAT???), I have to save the new ones for a rainy day. Every time I get a new toy, I pull it under my bed and save it for later. When I want to play, I play with one of the old dead toys in the corner. The new toys are not to be played with!!

Sometimes my people think they are smarter than me and they pull the new toy out and throw it to me. But I will not be outsmarted! I just take that toy and immediately run it back under the bed. It must be saved!

Just know that if there ever is a "rainy day," I'll be under the bed :-)
